Sat. 12th May World Fair Trade Day which falls just before the start of Christian Aid Week when many of us will be doing what we can to raise money to help some of the poorest people on the planet. Buying Fairtrade goods is another way of helping producers in the developing world to take a step out of poverty and into dignity and self-respect – not to mention improved living conditions, better education and health care. We hope you will think seriously about using World Fair Trade day to remind people of the power we all have, through our shopping baskets, to improve the lot, not just of producers in some of the poorest countries of the world, but also of their families and communities.
May 20th Church lunch and Annual Congregational meeting. In view of this there will be no evening service that day.

400th anniversary of the King James Bible
2011 was the 400th anniversary since the publication of the King James Version of the Bible and therefore presents a unique opportunity for the Church to focus its attention on the Word of God. Biblefresh is a movement of churches, agencies, organisations, colleges and festivals which has a vision to reignite and re-enthuse the church in its passion for the Bible.Thousands of people across Britain and Northern Ireland, including some from Crown Terrace Methodist Church, have hand transcribed the Bible in the last 12 months, and the final version was presented to the Methodist Conference in July. As part of the 400th year anniversary of the King James Bible, people were invited to join Methodists in handwriting verses from Scripture. Volunteers joined in from across communities, including prisons, schools, colleges, libraries, nursing homes, airports and shopping centres after Methodists voted to transcribe the Bible at the 2010 Conference in Portsmouth. The Methodists’ handwritten Bible, which will be bound in 31 volumes and then tour the country, will also be available to read online on the Deepening Discipleship website (see in particular Philemon which was Crown Terrace's contribution). Verses have been written in English, Chinese, Welsh and Braille with accompanying illustrations.
